What should I write about?
If you want to get a sense of the topics we write about, read our blog. We mainly write about different ways to make and save money, and informational posts on budgeting and costs.
Should I pitch an idea before writing and submitting a full article?
Either way is fine. If you want to pitch a topic idea, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that even if an idea is accepted, the final article needs to be approved to be accepted on Common Cents Mom.
Will my author info be published?
Yes! Writing for Common Cents Mom means you get your own bio page and your name will be published as the author of the article.
Do you pay writers?
Yes, we believe in fair pay for our writers, and amount is based on length and scope of topic.
How long does it take to receive payment?
Writers are paid immediately once the article is accepted.
Will you edit my article?
Yes, all articles will go through our editing process before being scheduled for publishing.
Can I repost the article elsewhere, like on my own blog?
No. If you submit an article to Common Cents Mom, we reserve the rights to the content and we ask that you don’t republish the same content elsewhere on the web.
Do you accept all articles?
No. However, we try to work with each writer to get to the point where we can accept it. If we don’t accept your article, you can publish the content elsewhere.
Can I include my bio?
Yes, as mentioned earlier, you will be credited as the author of your article on Common Cents Mom. Feel free to include a 2-5 sentence bio along with your details.
