Can you exchange gift cards for cash at a Coinstar kiosk?

Coinstar reportedly lets users redeem gift cards to get cash, but it does not owe customers any money if the retailer does not have gift cards. They were paying very high rent to rent out storefronts for displays like this, so they closed all of them. Coinstar has kiosks around the globe, where you can exchange gift cards for cash. But they’ve now gone to a model that emphasizes exchanging pennies for gift cards, rather than the other way around.

But they’re now encouraging people to spend more money by letting them redeem coupons that give you free gifts or gift cards that give you money.

How much will Coinstar pay for gift cards?

Approximately 85% of the worth of the gift card can be exchanged for Coinstar gift cards. Each card is unique. To use the system, the card must have at least $20 on it. Those are two unbreakable laws.

The fee is currently listed at 11.9% of the worth of the coins you’re exchanging if you only want to exchange tokens and not gift cards. For each and every $100 in coinage you insert into the machine, you get about $12.

While they’d all be pretty easy to do, none are quite as easy as just taking out some cash from an ATM. Do not think that could be too hard to do, because taking those extra steps in order to get that money isn’t very hard.
